Shelter Island Wedding at The Dering Harbor Inn

Liane & Eugene                                                             The Dering Harbor Inn, Shelter Island

What a day!  Just brilliant…everything about it.  Not a single detail went unattended to.  The day was centered in trees, as in nature and in family.  Liane and Eugene have known each other since they were just kids, vacationing together with their families and undoubtedly exchanging sweet glances, and probably sneaking kisses 😉

On their wedding day, and together with the help of their families, they created a truly unique and thoughtful celebration.  Each centerpiece was engraved with the initials and year from every couple in their family, accompanied by a framed photo of the couple and plenty of candlelight to illuminate them.  The warmth that filled the tent was amazing.  And speaking of warm, they made sure to leave no guest with a chill by inviting all to have and enjoy a beautiful pashmina scarf, which were artfully displayed in a vintage box.  Their were perfect hand painted driftwood signs throughout the property, including “Sunset Cocktails,” “Dinner & Dancing,” and my favorite series of three which you will see in the slideshow.  The groom’s mother wrote and performed a heartfelt composition during the ceremony, and then there was yet another serenade by a close family friend during the reception.  There is so much to tell about the this day, but just get on to looking at the pictures!  Once you’ve gone through my favs below, click on Liane & Eugene under LINKS to see more!

Compliments to Catering By A Small Affair for their flawless presentation and service, and also to Karen Lenahan Designs for exquisite flowers, as always.
