Caty & Matt – 08.07.10

I arrived at a quiet little cedar shake house in Orient, and entered into the most heavenly visual feast I could have ever imagined!  The sweet and sultry sound of portuguese music filled this most serene space, as the girls sit gathered around the kitchen table with their arsenal of beauty products.  Paintings and books fill the walls from floor to ceiling and stone eyes of sculpted busts stare…this is the Salon.(def: A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase their knowledge of the participants through conversation. The Salon (French: Salon), or rarely Paris Salon (French: Salon de Paris), beginning in 1725 was the official art exhibition of the Academie des Beaux Arts in Paris, France.)  And the bride…a perfect composition.  Her hair is reminiscent of something from the 1800’s, veiled and adorned with gardenias.  She wears a lace tea length dress which mimics that of a doll and boldly contrasts the highest shiny gold stilettos you’ve ever seen – brilliant.  Her father walks her down the isle as Over The Rainbow welcomes them into the ceremony of her marriage.  I could go on…but just look…and definitely check out the slideshow under the LINKS category.

  1. I love your blog posts, but the slideshows alone tell such great stories. What a classy and fun wedding. I can barely get around in my kitten heels…the bride’s heels were amazing! Absolutely amazing work, Caroline. xoxo

  2. From what I have seen your work is most professional. I love your commentaries. You appear to be a professional writer as well as a wonderful photographer. Do I get to see all the photographes of the the wedding on line?
